Web hosting companies a large part of their revenues from Website / Domain / Email Hosting renewal income. In many cases the renewal may be done for 5 years or more at a time. Hence the CRM system should remind the billing staff about the coming renewal in time so that the client can be accordingly notified.

The second issue that had to be addressed was handling of different kinds of customers (direct hosting clients, reseller partners, affiliate partners etc.). The system should be able to inform the clients under a particular reseller so that the communication can be handled accordingly.

We undertook a comprehensive study of the needs that has to be addressed and provides customisation in SugarCRM Community Edition so that it is able to do following:

We customised "Member of" field and used it in a way that one can find all the clients under a particular reseller or find out the reseller who brought the client into the company

+ Email Campaign is being used extensively with the help of Cron Job Email scheduling

We hosted the client's website, SugarCRM and Cerberus Helpdesk on the same VPS Linux Server. Now all web orders automatically open a lead in the SugarCRM (through Web-to-lead functionality), a copy of the Support case from Cerberus is also opened as a case inside SugarCRM (for records only)

+ We integrated Shine Crafty Syntax live chat on the website with the SugarCRM. Now the agents can not only record the chat conversation in their databases but also open leads / opportunities directly from Chat console itself (without logging into SugarCRM)
